Just what kind of person
do you think you really are?
You could answer all these questions,
you could look inside your heart--
or you could look inside your head instead--
decide the mind’s what’s getting fed.
Just what kinda person
do you think you’d really be
if you’re confronted with decisions
of foregoing your own needs?
Just what kind of animal
resides inside your heart?
Well, you could think about it,
honey, that’s a start!
Ooo ooo oh. Ooo ooo oh.
Everybody’s staring at the floor.
Ooo ooo oh. Ooo ooo oh.
Everybody’s heading towards the door.
I don't mind
when you ask,
"Can I go?"
YES, cuz you're a piece of human trash!
Baby, you're a piece of human trash!
Just what kind of creatures
do you think that women are?
You could use up all my body,
you could decimate my heart
or you could not pick up the phone instead,
ghosting, coasting, playing dead
Ooo ooo oh. Ooo ooo oh.
Everybody’s staring at the floor.
Ooo ooo oh. Ooo ooo oh.
Everybody’s heading towards the door.
I don't mind
when you ask,
"Can I go?"
YES, cuz you're a piece of human trash!
Baby, you're a piece of human trash!
Just what kinda person
do you think you really want?
A walking-talking mannequin
or disembodied cunt?
Just what kind of animal
resides inside your heart,
oh you could think about it,
honey, that's a start.
Ooo ooo oh. Ooo ooo oh.
Everybody’s staring at the floor.
Ooo ooo oh. Ooo ooo oh.
Everybody’s heading towards the door.
I don't mind
when you ask,
"Can I go?"
YES, cuz you're a piece of human trash!
Baby, you're a piece of human trash!
Honey, you're a piece of human trasssshhhhhh
A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer
A four-track bout between two of Australia's most formidable post-punk groups, fueled by wiry guitar riffs and vibrant, timely lyrics. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 19, 2022
St. Louis group The Mall make a debut as a two piece with dark, driving, and near-demented synth punk. Don't sleep (they won't let you.) Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 1, 2022
Balancing hooks and abrasion, the debut from Berlin punks Rouge features springy synths, snappy percussion, and insouciant vocals. Bandcamp New & Notable May 3, 2022
I'm rarely in awe. High Horse set something right in my brain that had been wrong for a while. Unexpected beauty, even in the ugly truths we have to face. modestwriggles
